Home of the Seattle Seahawks (NFL), Seattle Sounders FC (MLS) and Seattle Reign FC (NWSL), opened in 2002, capacity 68,740. A distinctive conversion: instead of stripping the venue back to the concrete, the grass profile was built directly above the existing synthetic surface, with 30 to 35 cm of sand and base materials laid from late February onwards, then a cool-season sod grown in central Washington and reinforced with GrassMaster high performance fibres.
On a shallow, newly built profile, vertical fibre reinforcement is what anchors the rootzone and holds the surface level under match load. The pitch was stress-tested in April during a full international before the tournament. The partial canopy covers around 70% of the seats but leaves the playing surface fully open to the sky, so the grass benefited from long northern-summer daylight.
During World Cup 2026, Seattle hosted 6 matches, including four group-stage games and two knockout ties.
Playing area 105 m x 68 m, for a total reinforced surface of 8,500 m².
